Knights Secure Dual Bids to the USAH Junior National Championship
2010-03-07
In the only way it should be, the Atlanta Knights Elites came back from a 3-1 deficit with 4 unanswered goals against a surprisingly tough Hampton Roads Whalers team, and will now move on to the USAH Junior National Championships.Along with our Knights Selects, this organization marks only the second time in USAH Junior hockey history that two eligible teams from the same organization qualify for USAH Junior National Championships at the same time and as top seeds, and the first from the south to achieve this at any level.
The achievement of this organization cannot occur without the excellent commitments of our players and coaches, and the constant support of player families, and billet families, youth level parents and players combined. The Knights now move into the premier ranks of all junior programs nationally and the achievement of this young organization are unequalled.
Ruth and I cannot express the amount of pride we have with regard to our players and coaches, and we not turn our attention to the ultimate prize. Also, I would like to announce to you the multiple college commitments that have been obtained by this exceptional group of student athletes. In all, more than 8 Knights players will accept collegiate offers to play NCAA Division III hockey and ACHA Division I for the fall 2010. This exceptional group of players will obtain more than $125,000 of scholarship monies in the upcoming year to pursue their dreams and to obtain the all important college degree. No organization in the South at any level has achieved the results that this program has accomplished, and the only organization to make direct player placement to college from the local and regional marketplace.
Now we turn our focus to raising the National Championship Cup twice. Unbelievable!! Go Knights!!!!
Regards,
David and Ruth
